very good for what it is
There are better ways to seal mason jars, with the brake-line pump/jar-attachment method probably being the best, at least if you want a super-tough seal that can’t be easily popped off by hand. But these packets are a fine enough way to get the job done, with the understanding that it offers a less powerful seal than you can get from the aforementioned method or even a quality electric vacuum seal device. But for a basic Mason Jar sealer for dry goods, these are fine enough. The packets are all individually sealed, and so all you do is take one out of its clear plastic wrap, plop it in the jar, seal the lid, and wait about a half hour. I was going to make a video of all this, but, alas, there is no dramatic moment when the seal is achieved. But the seal does make that satisfying “shhhhhlooooop!” sound when you open the jar. I should also note that I undid the seal and re-sealed an 8 ounce Mason Jar with same packet twice over two days, so don’t necessarily chuck them after you use them.I should also note that the air-absorbing packet itself is the thing with “do not eat” written all over it… don’t cut THAT open because it’ll expose all the (likely poisonous) little ball thingies that absorb the air. I cut one open but it was purely out of curiosity I SWEAR.Again, I think there are better methods for sealing Mason Jars, but if you want an easy, no-fuss method that doesn’t require any special degree of hand strength, these packets will do just fine. Five stars despite the fact that you cannot eat them.

Great for longer freshness.
These come individually wrapped and are long lasting at keeping the moisture gone. This has helped me keep many pantry items longer than when I don’t use them. I am also able to buy in larger quantity thus saving me money as well as giving me less shopping time. I’m happy to have these.

Worse oxygen absorber!
Save your money! I bought two bags 400 & 500. They arrived perfectly! WILL NOT GET HOT! No blue dot in the bag for freshness! They are useless to me! Can’t return because I open both packages. Back to vacuum sealing!

Individually package for freshness
I really like that these are individually packaged so they stay fresh until you open them. I also really like that they are 2500 cc apiece which means I only need two in my 5 gallon buckets. The price is great for how strong these Absorbers are. I also really like that they turn color if they are no longer any good that is always very helpful. They are clearly marked so if someone else should open the package with it and they are marked do not eat which is very important. I’m so happy to have 2500 cc oxygen absorbers at such a good price I will be back for more when I use these up.

Perfect to reduce food waste
As someone who bakes a lot and spends a fortune on high quality ingredients, these are great for prolonging the shelf life of all kinds of baking supplies. Just pop one of these in the bag/jar/container and seal. It sucks the oxygen out, thus prolonging the freshness. Highly recommend!!

Junk

Less than 1 star. Useless. No indicator, doesn’t get warm, not even when cut open. Waste of $30

Generous supply; comes vacuum-sealed
I got these for keeping backpacking foods fresh. The packets are clearly labeled and contain a generous amount of material (iron powder) for keeping small containers (up to about 1/2 gallon) free of oxygen to prolong shelf life. I buy multiple packets of different freeze-dried or dehydrated products for making my own backpacking food. Things like onion powder, tomato powder, dehydrated coconut milk, hummus, etc. can all be re-sealed with an oxygen absorber to prolong freshness. These are great and just the right size. They come packaged in bulk in a nylon vacuum-sealed bag. When you open the bag , take out what you are going to use right now and then reseal the storage bag or transfer to a generic vacuum-sealer bag and re-seal. Store the unused packets sealed else they will absorb oxygen from the ambient air and become non-functional.These are great. I recommend them highly.

Great for Mylar bag storage
I store a lot of food that I have dehydrated in Mylar bags with oxygen absorbers. The storage is easy, and the gallon bags hold a lot. These oxygen absorbers looked good for my purposes. The Good:-The 200cc size absorbers are good with gallon bag storage. I use two per bag.-The absorbers come packaged in smaller bags within the 100-count quantity. This makes it easy to expose only a few to the air at a time and seal those not used with a vacuum sealer.-The absorbers seem to be doing the job intended. The Bad:-NothingThis product meets my expectations.

Excellent For Long Term Storage Of Dry Food Items
While these are best for sealing in mylar bags, I also use them when storing dry food in mason jars. I just purchased 5 pounds of dried shallots and stored half in mylar bags with these (as per directions 5 per bag) and the rest in a couple of mason jars with 4 per jar. These absorbers make a difference when storing dry food.

Fantastic Purchase!
Let me start by saying that these are one of the best packed absorbers I have ever purchased. They are packed super tight in the large package and then you have the smaller (also resealable) packages that are contained within. They are a super reasonable price as well. I am very happy with this purchase.

Secure Packaging, Indicators for Viability
I ordered these for mylar bag project this summer for dehydrated veggies. I received the packets as advertised in groups of 5 pieces. I also plan to use them in quart jar storage for dehydrated herbs and peppers. I’ll update once I use them IF there are any issues, which I don’t expect there to be any.
